Boredom-buster jars

Duration:

20 minutes

You’ll need:

  • An clean jam or mason jar
  • Paper
  • Pens
  • Scissors

1.

Fold your paper four times in half to end up with eight different squares. In six of the squares, write down different activity you can do at home during lockdown. Leave the final two squares blank.

2.

Make sure that you have a variety of different activities. Try and find an activity to fall under these categories:

  •  An activity with a family member
  • An activity that teaches you something new
  • A physical activity
  • A relaxing activity
  • An activity that doesn’t require modern technology (No screens!)
  • Something you haven’t done in a long time.

3.

Once you’ve wrote down your six activities, share them with the rest of the group. Did anyone come up with the same activities? Once everyone has shared their activities, nominate someone to offer an activity for your spare box.

4.

Each girl should ask two other girls for two further activities on her blank squares. Alternatively, get the rest of the group to offer an activity and individuals can choose which ones they want to add to their list.

5.

Once you have all eight squares filled with your different activities, cut out the squares and fold them into your jar.  Whenever you get bored at home, you can pick an activity out of your jar!
