You’ll need:

  • Eggs
  • Spoons
  • Hula hoops
  • Bin bags
  • Scarves
  • A bucket per team

Focus

All you need is some simple items and a safe outdoor space like a garden, driveway or pavement. Some suggestions girls can play on their own others may need the rest of the household to join in. Being outside and getting heart rate increased is a great way to de-stress and feel good. 

1.

Egg and spoon race 

This is a classic game and really easy to do at home. Get an adult to help you hardboil two eggs. You’ll need two wooden spoons. Each person will need to keep their egg on the spoon until they reach the finish line.

Sack race  

You can host your own sack race using a bin bag instead of a sack. This makes the race a little trickier as you’ll have to be careful not to tear through the bag.  

3.

Three legged race  

This is another game that can easily be done at home. You need four players and two scarves. Tie two players together by wrapping the scarf around their ankles. See which pair can reach the finish line first! 

4.

Obstacle course

Setting up an obstacle course is lots of fun. Think about objects to put in the way for racers to jump over, walk around, maybe even set up mini challenges in the race.  

5.

Hula hoop race 

Hula your way to the finish line. You can time yourself or go against someone else.  

6.

Bucket game 

A bucket of water is placed at the start of the finish line and an empty bucket is placed at the end of the finish lineUsing a cup, you’ll need to take the water from one bucket to another. Time yourself and see who can fill the bucket in the quickest time!
