This activity helps girls to learn about, promote and feel proud of their locality.
Preparation
Put out paints and other materials being used to decorate the bags.
Instructions
1.
Have a discussion about the features of the town or village, for example any favourite places to play, landmarks to visit, etc.
2.
Explain that the girls are going to decorate a bag to showcase what they like best about their locality.
3.
They can decorate the bags by drawing designs and slogans and adding colours using paints and pens.
4.
Once the bags are dry (you might need to wait until the next session) they could add additional embellishments such as diamante, glitter, buttons etc.
5.
The girls should model their bags to the rest of the group and briefly describe and explain their design.
