Instructions

1.

Stuck in the mud:
Several girls are selected to be ‘on it’ and have to tag the others. Once tagged they stand legs apart as if they are stuck in the mud. Another child can free them by crawling under their legs.

2.

Baked beans:
The leader or a nominated girl shouts out commands as follows: ‘Baked beans’ indicates that they must curl up in a ball. ‘Runner beans’ means they have to run around. ‘Broad beans’ means they stand with arms and legs apart. ‘String beans’ means to stretch up tall. ‘Jelly beans’ indicates they must wobble around. For younger children you could reduce the number of instructions or introduce them gradually.

3.

Newspaper Hockey:
Make hockey sticks by rolling newspapers into a long tube and a ball by rolling paper up into a tight ball. Split the girls into teams and use cones for goals. Children then compete against each other to get the hockey ball into the goal.
