Focus
An easy gardening project for those without gardens, that also boosts self esteem.
Instructions
1.
Cut out wide leaf shapes from the paper, approximately the size of your hand. Use brightly coloured paper/card if you have it – but don’t worry if not, you can decorate them with coloured pens.
2.
Punch a hole through the top of each leaf (you might need to ask an adult to help you with this), and loop a bit of string through each one
3.
Put the branch/twig into a jar or vase. If you have them, you could add some stones or marbles to help your branch stay upright.
4.
Write down one thing that describes you on each leaf. For example, you might write “I am kind”, or “I like running”. You could draw pictures too. Take care to be positive in the words that you choose – describe yourself in the way that a kind friend would.
5.
Hang the leaves on the branches. Now you can stand back and admire your ‘tree of me’. You don’t need a garden for this tree to grow – you can add new leaves whenever you want to.
